It is definitely and new world out there and as we are all required to stay home, it gives me plenty of time to paint and grow my busyness as an artist. I am also finding lots of on-line activities. Here is a link that I found very interesting from the Global health Institute https://ghi.wisc.edu/covid-19/art-and-the-coronavirus/
I am headed out this weekend for more fun plein aire painting with Stefan Baumann and one of his fabulous workshops... Lets hope we are waylaid by rain!
Fire sales.... it is with mixed emotion that I sold two paintings to families that lost their homes in the Carr Fire.
"On the Wild Side" and "Boulder Creek" were both falls from the Whiskeytown area that was devastated in the fire. I am happy that their new owners can have loving memories of our beautiful wilderness. With time, I am sure Mother Nature will heal the landscape.
North Valley Art League Small Painting Show 2nd place winner.
Early Redwood's Morning. This was a piece done pleinaire just outside of Trinidad. We did an early morning walk and I knew has the light crept through the Redwoods, I just had to paint it.
North Valley Art League Small Painting Show 2019
Winter's Dream won 1st place. This painting was created from my imagination to represent my feeling of winter. Thankfully the judge, Malcolm Wilson agreed.
I was very please and honored to be the Editor's Choice in the Summer Edition of Startists. Startists is an international art magazine featuring contemporary women in art. It came out in May 2018 and can be purchased on Amazon.
Check out this new book by Jeff Goins, which just came out last week. It’s going to be a game changer. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0718086260/ref=as_li_tl…
This looks like a great book to keep me on track... though according to my waistline... I don't have to worry about starving.
Just a few photos of the beautiful places we went to during the workshop. Unfortunately I left my phone behind and didn't get photos of McCloud.
