About me: Sharon Crabill is a native of California. Born in Van Nuys,  California, Sharon spent most of her early years living in the San Fernando
Valley. As with most children, Sharon's love of art started with her first  box of crayons, but being a child who could never stay inside the lines, she
quickly started drawing her own images.

Through the  years, Sharon has studied drawing , figure drawing, and 3-D design at  the University of South Alabama , art production at Tallahassee Community
College, fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Design and  Merchandising, color theory and design and painting at Shasta  College.

Sharon has been in Redding since 1988 and  resides on a beautiful hillside with her husband, Dennis,  her  grandson, Christopher, their dog, Misty and two cats, Hans and Fritz.   Living in Shasta County has given her the opportunity to be  surrounded by and influenced by the beauty of the north  state.

Although interested in all forms  of art, Sharon has found that it is the emotional side of art that speaks  to her the loudest. Her paintings are inspired by nature and her
emotional response to  that encounter. Sharon works with acrylics, water  mixable oils, oil paints, and colored pencils. She uses a combination of  imagination and photography infused with reflection and light to produce  her work. Reflection is a reoccurring theme in many of Sharon's  pieces.

Sharon has also designed two book  cover designs. She received an award through Women’s Refuge for a  Book  Cover Design Contest and she created the book cover design and art for Bobbie G’s book, “The Choice”. You can visit Bobbie's site at: www.thegregorycontinuum.com
